The Bozeman Police Department is hosting a Community Safety Series which will be held at the Bozeman Public Library Large Community Room September 25, October 2 & 9 at 6:00 p.m. Topics that will be presented are as follows:
9/25 – Dangerous Drug Identification and Their Use: Lieutenant Jake Wagner, supervisor of the Missouri River Drug Task Force will provide comprehensive information on Dangerous Drugs in our community, their identification, effects, and are we winning the battle? A drug take back container will be on site so attendees are encouraged to bring their unused prescription medication where it can be disposed of properly.
10/2 – Protecting our Children in a Digital Age: Bozeman Police Detective Dana McNeil is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), and actively investigates the exploitation of children on the internet and other electronic mediums. Detective McNeil will guide you through how on-line predators use social media sites to select, communicate with, and exploit their victims.
10/9 – Quality of Life Issues in Our Community: There’s a vacant house that attracts criminal activity. The neighbors are having loud parties all hours of the night. Garbage is piling up in the yard across the street. Abandoned vehicles left on the street. What is being done to address these problems? This is an opportunity to meet Community Resource Officer Charley Gappmayer and discuss issues that we face as a community and what steps are being taken so we can all enjoy a high quality of life. Please bring your questions, concerns, and suggestions.
Also to note: The downtown Bozeman Police Department has added a drug take back container for outdated and expired prescription drugs. The downtown Police Department is located on 30 N Rouse in Bozeman, MT.
