Breast is Best!

Breastfeeding is a personal decision. No mother should feel guilty if she cannot, or chooses not to breastfeed. However, for mothers who desire to breastfeed, their success can be greatly improved through the support of their families, friends, communities, clinicians, health care leaders and employers.

Breastfeeding is the healthiest way to nourish your baby, (not to mention the most budget-friendly!)

The benefits are huge:

  • The antibodies in breastmilk improve your baby’s immune system, decreasing the number of doctor and dental visits.
  • Breastfeeding reduces the rate of childhood allergies.
  • It’s the most convenient way to feed your baby.
  • Women who breastfeed have a lower rate of breast and ovarian cancers.
  • It saves money!

Breastfeeding can also be challenging and that’s where we come in. Our Certified Lactation Counselors are here to help you relax and be successful at this new venture. We provide tips and training, help with the transition back to work and offer free parenting classes!

This should be one of the most beautiful and intimate times in you and your baby’s life…we’ll help you get off to a great start!

The Affordable Care Act amended section 7 of the FLSA to require employers to provide reasonable break time for an employee to express breast milk for her nursing child each time such employee has the need to express milk. Employers are also required to provide a place, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public, which may be used by an employee to express breast milk.
